Jio recently launched his new Jio feature phone in the market which Mr Ambani claims to distribute among the Indians for free. Here are some of the lightened facts about this phone: -
THIS PHONE IS EFFECTIVELY FREE.
Buyers have to pay 1500 rupees initially to get this phone. These 1500 rupees are refundable after minimum use of 3 years of this device. One can retrieve his/her money back against this device after 3 years.
So, technically this device is free, practically one in thousands will keep this handset preserve to claim the refund after 3 years.

Jio phones have special data plans available only for Jio phone users, Normal Jio users can not take this privilege. Minimum monthly data plan worth you around 153 bucks, offering 500 MB of data pack along with unlimited calling and texting. After 500 MB, 4G internet speed will drop down to 128 KB/s. Other data plans are available on their official website, the basis of all the plans remains same only the amount of 4G data one will get would increases.
Now, Questions comes to my reader's mind, Is this 500 MB data would be sufficient for daily use? The answer is YES!, Jio phone contains QVGA screen. The screen size of Jio phone is 2.5 inches. So such small screen doesn't require high bandwidth as compared to the high-end smartphone with U4K Oled screen. 500 MB in a day would be sufficient for this device.CONTAIN HOTSPOT?
Jio laughed various models of Jio phones. So, Some of the models might contain hardware for the hotspot, But initially, the feature of Hotspot would be kept locked. There are possibilities of unlocking this feature in upcoming 5 or 6 months.
So, out of the box, one cannot use the feature of the hotspot.DUAL SIM OR NOT?
Some variants of this device are available with dual Sim feature. It would be mandatory to use Jio Sim in one of the either slot.OPERATING SYSTEM?
This Jio Phone contains an OS developed by FIREFOX named Kai. Kai supports pretty much every app that a normal user uses to carry his/her day to day life.

This phone cannot replace our existing smartphone. There is separate Jio sim available to take the privilege of such amazing offers on your existing smartphones. This Jio Phone is developed to target audience use feature phones. The majority of India still use the feature phone. Reliance wants to capture the market of feature phones.
